As of March, the website for the Cane Creek Campground says "NO events scheduled for 2023."
The three-day Lil John’s Mountain Music Festival provides the convenience of a full-service campground with morning and evening sets by the featured acts each day. If you’re camping, especially, you can catch the day’s music at your leisure. The show breaks at dinner time for an hour on Fridays and Saturdays, and the day's headliner may play just an evening show.
The music area is set off to one side of the campground, though some campsites are adjacent to it.
The lawn, which slopes toward the small single stage, is pretty well shaded by trees.
Shows are held on Memorial Day weekend (a Labor Day weekend festival was discontinued), and are a revival of a festival held for many years by the late John D. Maness of the Bass Mountain Boys. John D. Maness Jr. and his wife, Natalie, say they want to blend tradition with a new direction.
A few vendors ring the performance lawn.
A small concessions stand (below) and a performers’ vending shed (second below) sit to one side of the audience area.
